Two marketing tools to promote the Grand Old City will be updated this fall, as the second edition of the Dowagiac Street and Landmark Map and the 2006 Events and Festivals Brochure of the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce are published.
Vickie Phillipson, program director of the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Authority (DDA), who is coordinating the two marketing projects, said Chamber members who would like to advertise within either publication are encouraged to call her office at 782-8212 to reserve their space.
The 2006 publications are expected to be available to the public in late December.
Phillipson said the Dowagiac Street and Landmark Map, which the Chamber first published in 2002, will again feature a full-color format, rather than the simplistic two-color map previously produced by out-of-town map publishers.
It will also contain such points of interest as Dowagiac's public sculpture, parks and recreational facilities, area schools, Southwestern Michigan College and this community's four golf courses.
The Sister Lakes map will highlight the location of township offices, fire departments, Sister Lakes Elementary School and such tourist attractions as Doe-Wah-Jack Canoe Rental, Wicks' Apple House, Five-Mile Drive In and Tree Mendus Fruit.
