Centreville defense gives Brandywine problems

CENTREVILLE - Visiting Brandywine couldn't muster much of an offense Thursday night in losing to the host Bulldogs, 36-7.
The Bobcats (1-1) had just eight yards of total offense in the first half and turned the ball over twice.
The result was a 29-0 Centreville lead.
Zach Adams got the Bulldogs on the board first with a 17-yard run. He also scored the two-point conversion as he hauled in a pass from Dustin Mostrom.
Shane Milliman made it 15-0 in the opening quarter as he scored on an 86-yard run. John Tully added the extra point.
Centrevile (2-0) scored a pair of second quarter touchdowns to open up a 29-point first half advantage.
Christian Alexander scored on a five-yard run before Josh Minger recovered a fumble at the Brandywine one-yard line and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown.
Tully was successful on both extra point kicks.
In the second half Centreville made it 36-0 when Adams scored on an 11-yard run and Tully kicked the extra point.
The Bobcats averted the shutout in the fourth quarter when Matt Duckett scored on a 16-yard run.
Brandywine's two-point conversion run was unsuccessful.
The Bobcats finished with 117 yards rushing, but just two yards passing as they were 1-of-9 throwing the ball with two interceptions.
Brandywine ended the game with four turnovers.
Centreville, which defeated Buchanan in the season opener last Friday night, rushed for 189 yards and threw for another 84. The Bulldogs were 8-of-15 through the air with an interception.
Duckett and Caleb Frazier led the Bobcats with 46 yards rushing.
Milliman finished with 99 yards rushing and 84 yards passing for the Bulldogs in the opening half.
Brandywine's Chris Tokar suffered a slight concussion. His injury in the first half delayed the game 30 minutes while paramedics tended to him.
