NILES - A dream is coming true for one Niles resident.
Niles resident Nicole Dominguez, 18, has been selected to take part in the Youth with a Mission program.
In just a few short weeks Dominguez will be traveling to California where she will partake in a four month training discipleship program before a two month overseas trip where she will do mission work in Turkey and Bosnia.
Dominguez is a 2005 Niles High School honors graduate and the daughter of John and Shelly Dominguez of Niles.
The Youth with a Mission program began back in 1960. The groups focus was to get the youth into short term mission trips which would allow them to spread the word of the church.
Today that mission still holds true and Youth with a Mission has people from over a 130 countries participating in its programs and operates over 900 locations in over 140 countries, with over 11,000 on staff.
Doninguez's brother, Rex, has been involved with Youth with a Mission for the past two years. He started by participating in the program and then became a member of the staff.
Dominguez is asking the community for help in her mission. Donations may be made in her behalf to the First Church of God in Niles, 2240 Yankee St.
