NILES - Before the start of Brandywine's tennis match Wednesday afternoon, coach Joe Marazita wasn't too sure what to expect from his team.
The Bobcats' first match was supposed to be held Saturday, but was canceled due to weather conditions.
But Marazita was pleased with the end results as Brandywine took a 7-1 win over visiting Paw Paw to start the season with a 1-0 record.
Paw Paw's only win came at No. 4 singles where Michelle Boothlor grabbed a 6-2, 6-1 win over Brittney Patterson.
Brandywine took wins in every other match,
At No. 1 singles, Amy Konopinski took a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Judy Baily.
Jill Sinkoff grabbed a 6-0, 7-6 win at No. 2 doubles against Christy Shatten and Amelia Harrison took a 6-2, 6-1 win over Katy Stahl at No. 3 singles.
At No. 1 doubles, Bethany Daniel and Ashley Valentine took a 6-2, 6-4 win over Beth Fields and Michelle Dveyva.
Erin Sinkoff and Jamie Bartuska grabbed the 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles against Chelsea Davy and Elise Kraft.
At No. 3 doubles, Erin Fuson and Samantha Quartuccio took a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jamie Norg and Caitlin Storch and at No. 4 doubles, Morgan Baily and Jo Ferenczi grabbed a 6-3, 6-1 win over Andrea Kilbme and Kelsey Graham.
Last season, the Bobcats had a near perfect 13-1 record and Marazita would like to see his team be successful again this year and give 100 percent in every match.
The Bobcats will host Buchanan on Monday for their first Lakeland Conference match set to being at 4 p.m.
