NILES- Members of Brandywine's wrestling team put away their tough faces for a day to help a Niles resident in a very special way.
Jeremy Hecthl, Adam Simons, Pat VanLaere, Justin Price and Bobcat varsity coach Rex Pomranka spent Tuesday scrubbing and painting an old iron fence that was in desperate need of a new facelift.
The homeowner, who wished to be left anonyomous, received the news about her fence and wasn't sure what to do about it.
That's when Pomranka came to the rescue.
Pomranka's wife is on the board at the Volunteer Center. He was helping out in the office when the news came through that someone was in need of some help.
Though his whole team didn't show up, the members that did were hard at work Tuesday morning scrubbing and painting the fence and moving bushes out of their path.
Brandywine's football team also took a break from practice this morning to help move the library books back into the library.
Remodeling at the high school is just about finished in time for the start of 2005-06 school year, which begins next week.
