Dowagiac golfers finish sixth at Wayland

The Dowagiac varsity golf team kicked off its 2005 season, the final in the Big 16 Conference, by competing in the Wayland Invitational.
Dowagiac finished sixth with a team total of 358. Saugatuck won the event with a score of 336.
Nick Krizinski led the Chieftains with a round of 87. Kevin Proshwitz finished with an 18-hole total of 89.
Dowagiac also got a pair of 91s from Adam Carlson and Mike Hoff.
Also playing were Richie Hutchinson, who shot 96, and freshman Zack Russom, who shot 102.
Playing as Dowagiac's best ball team will be Carlson and Krizinski. Making up the two scramble teams will be Proshwitz and Russom, as well as Hutchinson and Hoff.
The Centreville Invitational was scheduled to begin at 8:30 this morning.
