Brandywine hires new director of finance and operations

NILES - The Brandywine Community Schools has a new director of finance and operations.
At Monday evening's board of education meeting the board approved the hiring of Sue Furney as the director of finance and operations. Furney is replacing Gus Damaske, who left the position in July.
Furney brings over 20 years of business leadership, accounting, payroll, financial analysis, planning and budgeting experience to the job.
In other business the board agreed to a price adjustment to the football field light project, which they approved at a special meeting on Aug. 1.
The board approved to change the amount of the loan from $88,900 to $100,000.
Finally the board approved the board approved a bid of $30,814 for 35 new computer systems in one of the high schools business labs.
