Diamonds United take soccer title

Dowagiac Diamonds United captured the Blossomland Conference Cup Tournament championship Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Whirlpool United at the St. Joe Kickers Club in Arden.
Mauricio Mancera scored a pair of goals and Jonatan Martinez needed the other for Diamonds United.
Whirlpool United got its lone goal from Takeo Ishii.
The Kickers finished third with a 3-1 victory over P&R FC.
Jay Fettig scored a pair of goals for the Kickers, who also got a goal from Jason Girvan.
Andy Jackson scored the goal for P&R.
Athletic Jaier finished fifth after tying with the Dowagiac Chiefs, 3-3.
Ian Spooner, Mark Wojcicki and Mike Arnold netted goals for Jaier, while Tony Black had all three goals for Dowagiac.
The Tornadoes finished seventh with a 1-0 victory over the Mariners.
The Tornadoes won by forfeit.
Andy Low of the Tornadoes wins the Golden Boot Award as the league's top scorer.
Low finished the season with 19 goals.
