The Eaton Park tournament is truly a one-of-a-kind. It is played at the ever so popular Eaton Park, which has more than five baseball fields, a huge play area for children, concessions and much more to offer.
It's a very safe, friendly environment and continues to grow each and every year. Every player is treated equally and every team is recognized throughout the tournament.
The Eaton Park Tournament wrapped up Saturday afternoon after a long, intense month of baseball action.
The Brandywine Maroon All-Star team claimed the Peanut B League championship on Saturday when they defeated Watervliet for the title.
Brandywine's Gold team didn't advance to the final game, but received the very prestigious Sportsmanship Award for their outstanding attitudes during tournament action. Brandywine also had an All-Star team compete in the Little C division.
Buchanan's All-Star team competed in the Little B division and finished runners-up on Saturday when they were defeated by Bridgman.
Niles FOP also took part in the tournaments, which are held at Eaton Park in St. Joseph.
The Eaton Park Tournaments have been very popular with area All-Star teams for many of years.
Teams from all over Michiana compete during the month of July for a chance at claiming a championship title.
This year's tournament involved teams from Berrien Springs, Paw Paw, South Haven, Lakeshore, St. Joseph, Niles, Buchanan, Benton Harbor, Watervliet, Hartford, Three Oaks, Bridgman, Lawerence, Coloma/Hagar, New Buffalo, River Valley, Bangor, Michigan City and New Prairie.
Divisions in the tournament are Peanut, Little, Minor, Pony and Babe Ruth.
Congratulations to all teams involved in the tournament and to the Brandywine All-Star teams for leaving such a great mark.
