NILES - The month of July proved to be a busy, exciting and memorable one for Niles' Chris Noble.
Chris, a 12-year-old junior golfer, recently competed in the Century Boys and Girls State Junior Golf Championship, held July 21 and 22 at PineView Golf Course in Three Rivers, Mich.
Chris took home his second championship win in a row with rounds of 72 and 78 in the 9-12 year-old age group.
Barry Shanley, tournament director, presented Chris with his awards.
Chris also traveled with his family to Pointe Verda Beach, Fla. July 11-13 to compete in the All-Star Junior National Championship at the TPC Sawgrass.
There, Chris competed against 30 participants in the 10-12 year-old age division and placed 13th.
The Allstar Junior Golf Tour offers a competitive junior golf experience to junior golfers in all divisions.
The junior golf tournaments are played on some of the nation's most famous golf courses that many golfers only ever dream of playing on.
The tournament allows junior golfers ages 10-19 years of age, both boys and girls, to compete in nationally ranked junior golf tournaments.
All junior golf tournaments are held in the Fall, Winter and Spring.
The Junior Golf Tour is designed to give junior golfers the experience needed to learn every aspect of golf.
The tour gives junior golfers an opportunity to participate in both regional junior golf tournaments, as well as national junior golf tournaments. By competing in these tournaments, competitors help increase their odds of being evaluated by college golf coaches and recruiters.
The tour provides an avenue for aspiring junior golfers to gain competitive national ranking, which is important to today's junior golfers when trying to obtain a college golf scholarship.
Junior golfers that join the Allstar Junior Golf Tour are provided an extensive online player profile which can be used when applying for scholarships.
Chris has also placed in other tournaments this year, some of which include winning the Greater Niles Area Golf Tournament in the 12-13 year-old division and taking second place at the U.S. Kids Golf Championship.
