Dodgers claim title

NILES - A late rally by the Indians wasn't enough to claim the championship win as the Dodgers took the 7-4 victory Monday evening in the Babe Ruth 13-year-old Preps League.
The Indians remained scoreless heading into the bottom of the sixth, with the Dodgers having a seven run advantage.
With two outs, Richie Reed singled to bring in the first run of the game for the Indians.
A double by David Sokolowski added two more runs to the scoreboard.
At the end of the sixth, the Indians still trailed the Dodgers, 7-3.
The Indians were able to add one last run in the bottom of the seventh on a wild pitch, but the Dodgers quickly put an end to the game and walked away with the championship title.
Ralph Sater took the win on the mound for the Dodgers.
Sater threw three strike outs, six walks and allowed five hits.
Sokolowski suffered the loss for the Indians.
Sokolowski threw six strike outs, seven walks and allowed three hits.
The Dodgers were led offensively by Sater, Wayne Marazita and Kyle Ballge all with one single each.
Top hitters for the Indians were Reed with two singles and one RBI, Steve Solkey and Kody Stroud both with one single each and Sokolowski with a double and two RBIs.
The Indians advanced to the championship game when they defeated the Rangers on Friday evening, 9-5.
The Dodgers earned a spot in the finals when they defeated the Astros Friday evening, 16-10.
On Thursday, the Babe Ruth 13-year-old All-Star team will head to the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc. The team will return Aug. 2.
Zach Edquist, Solkey and Sokolowski, all of the Indians and Wayne Marazita of the Dodgers, are all members of the All-Star team.
Roger Solkey, an Indians coach, also coaches the All-Star team.
The 14-15 year-old Juniors League championship game will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
