NILES - The thunderstorms and rain moved out just in time for the Niles-Brandywine Girls Softball Association to hold their awards banquet Wednesday evening at Fireman's Youth Park.
Though quite a few players were missing, there was still a decent turn out.
All teams received medals and the teams that took first and second place finishes received trophies.
The 6-8 year-old division doesn't place teams and focuses on teaching girls the game of softball and bettering their skills.
Teams in this division are Silverbrook, Stewart State Farm, Tyler Motors, Roberts and Carbons.
In the 9-10 year-old division, 5th Street Laser Wash were the league and playoff champions.
Cook Drilling Company came in second place in league play and took third in the playoffs.
Elks were the playoff tournament runners-up and finished third in league play and Tyler Refrigeration finished fourth in the league and in playoffs.
In the 11-12 year-old division, Selge claimed both the league and playoff championships.
Gallaghers were runners-up in playoff action with All-Points taking third, Dugout taking fourth and and Hackers taking fifth.
Though they finished fifth in playoff action, Hacker's were league runners-up.
In the 13-16 year-old division, Rifenberg claimed the playoff crown, while Low's took the league title.
Other teams in the 13-16 year-old division were AMS, Fullers, Federal Mogul, Bridges, Schraders, Gordons, Watsons and Feds.
The NBGSA All-Star tournaments begins on Friday at 6 p.m. at Fireman's Youth Park where several All-Star teams from the area will compete for the championship win. The tournament will conclude Sunday.
