Selge, Gallaghers and All Points go head-to-head for championship

NILES - Only three teams remain in the battle for the 11-12 year-old championships and one will be crowned this evening.
Another attempt to make a last minute comeback wasn't enough for Dugout as they fell to All Points,16-14, Thursday evening in 11-12 year-old playoff action.
All Points took control over the game early and never looked back, going up 11-1 in the third inning.
Taylor Mondschein took the win on the mound for All Points, throwing two strike outs.
Alex McIntee suffered the loss, throwing three strike outs.
Dugout was led offensively by Rachel Skalla with a triple.
Sam Vaughn led All Points with a double.
All Points, Gallaghers and Selge are the only three teams remaining in playoffs with a winner being determined this evening.
All Points and Gallaghers will go head-to-head at 6 p.m. for the semifinal game. The winner will advance to the finals at 7:45 against Selge.
If Selge is defeated in the first game, a second will be played at 9:30 p.m.
Lows vs. Rifenberg
It was almost an upset for undefeated Rifenberg Thursday evening as the team faced Lows for their last regular season game before the start of playoffs on Saturday.
Rifenberg took the 6-4 win, which was a little too close for comfort.
In the seventh and final inning, Lows had many of opportunities to catch up, but Christina Ford was the only Lows runner to make it to base and was left stranded at third.
Kendra Zache took the win on the mound for Rifenberg, throwing seven strike outs in four innings pitched.
Ashley Pointer suffered the loss, throwing three strike outs in three innings pitched.
Top hitters for Rifenberg were Mallory Barber with a double and two singles and Zache with a triple and a single.
Lows was led offensively by Rachel Batman with a double and Bridgett Cross and Elizabeth Carlson both with one single each.
Playoff action for the 13-16 year-old division will begin Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
This is a single elimination tournament with the winner being decided Saturday evening.
