NILES - Congratulations to the 8-year-old Brandywine Maroon team for taking the championship win in the Peanut Division at the Berrien Springs tournament last weekend. The team went 5-0.
The 8-year-old Gold team went 1-2 at the tournament, but still played very well.
The 11-year-old team took third place out of five teams at the tournament. They went 2-2, hanging tough in the heat.
All five teams are taking part in the Eaton Park tournament, which began Wednesday and will run through the end of July.
The 10-year-old team has been taking part in the Howard Township Tournament, which was held this week.
The 8-year-old teams are taking part in the Dowagiac tournament which will take place in a few weeks and the 11-year-olds will be traveling to Vincennes, Ind., July 21-26 to take part in the 11-year-old Cal Ripken Ohio Valley Regional. The Brandywine 11 year-olds will be representing the state of Michigan.
The 11-year-olds will also take part in the Howard Tournament, which will take place at the end of July.
