Niles midnight party welcomes Harry Potter

NILES - In less than three days the craze will sweep the nation once again.
The sixth book in the Harry Potter series by British author J.K. Rowling, which has been titled Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, is being released at one minute after midnight, Saturday morning at 12:01 a.m.
To celebrate the book's release which has been anticipated by Harry Potter fans, the Niles District Library children's department is hosting a Harry Potter book six party.
The party will take place on Friday, July 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the library.
Some of the featured events for those attending the party include, guessing who the half blood prince might be, a pensive book discussion, and a Hogwarts, the school of wizardry and witch craft, which the characters attend, trivia contest.
Other activities include a Harry, Ron and Hermione look-alike contest and a maze which people can try and negotiate, there will also be door prizes all evening.
Jackson added, "Many characters from the books will also be attending our festivities that evening and Harry Potter aficionado will truly enjoy the evening."
The final activity is a parade from the library down to Majerek's. There children and adults will be able to wait in line to purchase the new book for 20 percent off, at one minute after midnight, one hour sooner than those in Indiana.
The same activities will take place at the Majerek's store in Dowagiac from 10 to midnight.
The Harry Potter mania will continue on Saturday, July 16, at the Cass District Library in Cassopolis, as they host a Harry Potter trivia contest, beginning at 1 p.m.
There will be prizes and treats for all participants and the grand prize winners will receive their very own copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
