NILES - Niles is looking to welcome a new occupant to the empty K-Mart building at 2707 S 11th St. and to Michigan on Oct. 1.
Rural King Supply, America's Farm and Home Store, planted its roots in Mattoon, Ill. in 1960. This will be the first store the company will open in Michigan.
Since its beginnings, Rural King has added 34 stores with the majority in Illinois and Indiana. A few are in Kentucky and Tennessee. Michigan will be like Ohio, which presently has one store.
Corporate headquarters in Mattoon have just been moved to a brand new store that also serves as its distribution center. "We are excited and happy to be coming to Niles," Glen Howell said, Rural King's human resource manager.
The stores have a product mix with items such as livestock feed, farm equipment parts, lawn mowers, workwear, fashion clothing, pet products, housewares and toys.
The company prides itself in everyday low prices along with being the industry leader in product knowledge and customer service, according to its corporate office.
Along with its locations in six midwest states, the internet offers unlimited access to its products.
Employment opportuntities will be listed on the company website, the e-mail will be niles@ruralking.com for the newest location.
