NILES - Niles residents put your thinking caps on.
Niles residents are being asked by casting directors from the NBC show Three Wishes to nominate deserving people, organizations or even the whole town to receive three life changing wishes.
Some ideas of things they are looking for include, those who would like to say they are sorry, or need help forgiving; people who rescue animals; help save a business which is closing; someone who needs a medical miracles and any other wish ones heart desires.
The city of Niles was selected as one of three finalist towns in Michigan by casting directors after they did research on towns in the area. The other two finalist towns are Marshall and Cadillac.
Croteau added, "If I could have any three wishes for the city of Niles, it would definitely be to fix up the Ready Theater, finish the facade program and then finish the streetscape."
Residents can make their creative nominations for wishes, using one of three ways. They can either go to www.nbc.com and click on the icon on the bottom of the page and fill out the application, or they can call (323) 845-3031, or e-mail the NBC casting director Stacy Kitter at stacyk@glassman.com.
When all the nominations have been made and gone through and there is an interest shown by community members to have the show come, then a team of casting directors will travel to Niles within the next three weeks to make their final decision about the city.
Croteau added, "This is just another way for use to continue the rebirth of the community. It will allow us to make Niles all that much better and maybe even spread the wanting to make their community a better place to nearby cities and villages."
