Junior Tournament a success

NILES - Plym Park Golf Course was filled with young golfers Friday morning for the start of the Greater Niles Area Golf Tournament, being held this weekend.
The Junior Tournament kicked off this golf-filled weekend Friday morning where kids ages 10-17 came to show their skills.
Alex Grishaber took the win in the 10-11 year-old bracket. Grishaber shot a 59.
Not far behind was John Schrader, who shot a 61, Alex Hunt shot a 72 and Kevin Schrader and Tyler Fisher both shot an 81.
In the 12-13 year-old division, Chris Noble can add another trophy to his collection as he shot a 43 to give him another tournament win.
Noble will be traveling to Florida next week to compete in the Nike All-Star Junior National Championship at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Brett Phillips came in second with a 55 and Anthony Horvath rounded out the 12-13 year-old division with a 90.
D.J. Wolnik shot a 40 in the 14-15 year-old division to give him the win.
David Neumann came in a very close second place with a 41.
Jared Kabara shot a 48, Jake Bloss shot a 63 and Jake Ferguson shot a 64 to wrap up the division.
In the 16-17 year-old division, Alex Welsh took the win with a 76. Scott Majerek shot a 72 and Chris Haas and Nick Horn both shot an 83.
Participants in the 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15 year-old divisions golfed nine holes. The 16-17 year-old division golfed 18 holes.

The Men's, Women's and Senior's divisions will continue today and conclude on Sunday afternoon.
All results will be posted in Plym Parks clubhouse throughout the weekend.
