Little League District 15 playoffs get started for Dowagiac teams

The post season for the Dowagiac Little League got off to a slow start Wednesday evening as All-Star teams went 2-2 in District 15 competition.
The lone winner for the Dowagiac came in 9/10 Softball where the All-Stars posted a 16-14 victory over Constantine at Mendon.
Also in softball action on Wednesday, Dowagiac defeated Schoolcraft 9-6 at Mattawan in Major Softball.
In baseball action, Dowagiac was defeated at home by Three Rivers, 9-2, in Major Baseball.
Dowagiac was defeated by Decatur at Vicksburg in 9/10 Baseball, 14-1.

Berrien Springs Tournament
Dowagiac's 11-year-old All-Stars opened up the Berrien Springs tournament with an 8-7 victory over North Lincoln Tuesday night.
Dowagiac got three hits from Ryan Smith, including a double. Also picking up hits were Joey Pasternak, Craig Zebell, Jalen Brooks, Jacob Williams, Collin Burandt, Logan Pellow, Herb Ward and Hazen McMeeken.
McMeeken's single in the bottom of the sixth provided Dowagiac with the winning run.
Williams and McMeeken shared pitching duties for Dowagiac, which will return to action in Berrien on Friday at 6:30 p.m. against Lakeshore.
