AAA Michigan is offering is offering a free child safety seat inspection at its Niles insurance sales location, at 815 E. Main St.
The inspections will take place on Thursday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
McCall added, "Indiana recently passed the law where children are required to ride in booster seats. And with more people traveling during the summer months and with four out of five children not riding in a properly installed child safety seats or properly restrained, AAA wanted to provide this service to the community of Niles."

Michigan safety belt law states that children who are one year of age and under and weigh 20 pounds or less need to be in a rear-facing safety seat, at a 45 degree angle.
Those children who are over the age of one and weigh between 20 and 40 pounds, should be in a forward-facing car seat with a harness restraint.
Finally those children who weigh more than 40 pounds should be in a belt positioning boost seat until they are ready for adult restraints.
Children should not use adult restraints until they have reached four feet six inches tall and weigh at least 80 pounds. They also should have adequate pelvic development, meaning their knees bend over the seat.
This summer AAA Michigan has also teamed up with Harmon Glass Doctor at more than 100 AAA branches and AAA sales offices across the state to repair windshields for free.
On July 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. AAA and Harmon Glass will be at the Auto Club's Niles insurance office offering windshield repair. The service will be performed on a first come, first served basis.
The permanent, high bonding strength of the resin seals the damage and prevents the chip from spreading. The exclusive windshield repair process takes about 20 minutes and doesn't require the removal of the windshield. The service is guaranteed.
