The public is invited to attend a fundraiser July 16 for Dowagiac Rotary Club Foundation which will feature jazz by the Randal Ripley Quintet.
Auction items include four tickets to Michigan State's Nov. 19 game on the 30-yard line with parking, a cottage for the weekend in Pentwater and tickets to a White Sox game.
Sheriff Joe Underwood will serve as auctioneer for the dinner-and-dancing event at Dowagiac Conservation Club on M-51 North.
The event starts at 6 p.m., with music beginning about 7:30.
Tickets cost $25.
Non-Rotarians are encouraged to attend.
Rotary's new president, Mark Dobberstein, assumes his office today.
On Thursday he presented outgoing President Herbert Phillipson with a gavel plaque. "We really appreciate your service to us this year and your willingness to help."
Dobberstein said his goal "first and foremost" is to "highlight our speakers and keep our programs good. We've had excellent programs in this club given our membership size and the size of our community. I want to continue to highlight those speakers as the stars of the show."
Funeral director Brad Yazel is president-elect.
