Offering a 50-percent savings to families with children, McDonald's Restaurant is now an authorized ticket location for advance-sale tickets for the July 28-30 Dowagiac Fun Fest midway and children's amusement rides.
Family Fun Tyme Amusements, in cooperation with the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce and McDonald's, is now offering local families the opportunity to save up to 50 percent on rides, when purchasing tickets in advance of the carnival's arrival and the start of the three-day festival on Thursday, July 28.
According to Vickie Phillipson, program director of the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Authority, once the carnival arrives in Dowagiac, the price of tickets will then resume their normal price level.
Advance-sale tickets are now on sale at the Chamber of Commerce and McDonald's, and are priced at $1 per ride, with the ticket holder receiving 10 individual tickets.
In addition to receiving a 50 percent price reduction, parents also have the option of using the 10 individual tickets on one or more children, thereby offering families yet another way to save money.
Dowagiac Fun Fest brings to the Grand Old City more than 45 hours of continuous vocal and instrumental entertainment; hands-on educational workshops for children; summer sidewalk sales with community, commercial and craft booths; a festival food court; the 31st anniversary of Steve's 5K and 10K Run; Mini Grand Prix racing on Saturday and the new Children's Entertainment Tent on Depot Drive.
Corporate sponsors of the festival are: Drs. Charles Burling and Jonathan Gillesby, Creative Vinyl Signs, Felpausch Food Center, Franklin &Son, Leader Publications, Mennel Milling Co. of Michigan, Michigan Gateway Community Foundation, Southwestern Michigan College, St. Denys Foundation and Wolverine Mutual Insurance Co.
Fun Fest is one of seven seasonal events and promotions that the Chamber hosts each year.
