BUCHANAN - The search for Marquette Bowen, 56, of Fulton Street, Buchanan, who was reported missing to the Buchanan Police on Dec. 15, 2005, continued Wednesday with the use of cadaver dogs.
She was first seen on Wednesday, Dec. 15, around 11:30 a.m. in front of her residence. Later that day she was seen walking northbound on Redbud Trail. She was wearing a brown wool coat with a hood, blue jeans and brown frame eyeglasses. Her hair was shoulder length, brown and gray.
Bowen was under a doctor's care and is without her medication. She stands 5'6" and weighs about 100 lbs.
Wolverine K-9 Search and Rescue provided the dogs which searched along the St. Joseph River, near the area Bowen was last seen walking on North Red Bud Trail.
The search ended with nothing being located, Buchanan Police reported.
The search was not based on any new information and was conducted in an effort to cover all possible theories of Bowen's disappearance.
Rather than suggest Bowen may be deceased, the police used the cadaver dogs in order to investigate every possible means to try and locate the missing person.
Assisting in the search were members of the Buchanan Police Department, Berrien County Sheriff's Department Marine Division and Buchanan Township Fire Department.
Anyone with information on the disappearance of Marquette Bowen's whereabouts is urged to contact the Buchanan Police Department at (269) 695-5120.
