Having only one moment to talk before the council meeting, Frank DeFrancesco, attorney for the Village of Cassopolis, said the Michael Jackson verdict was "no surprise."
Though DeFrancesco added, "I thought there may be one conviction on one count."
Dowagiac City Attorney Mark Westrate said after Monday night's City Council meeting agreed he was "not surprised" Michael Jackson was acquitted of all 10 charges.
The prosecution "spent way too much time on other things. He should have kept it shorter with this case. He stood a better chance (of conviction) if he didn't drag in everything but the kitchen sink."
Westrate listened to a juror's analysis of the case while driving to City Hall.
