CASSOPOLIS - Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his deputies handled a personal-injury accident at 2:34 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, on Marcellus Highway near Sunrise Drive in Wayne Township.
A vehicle, driven by 51-year- old Reginald Mesko, was traveling east on Marcellus Highway when it left the roadway and drove into a ditch.
Mesko was transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment of his injuries.
A passenger, 49-year-old Darlene Winchester, was also transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial for treatment of her injuries.
Both Mesko and Winchester were wearing their seatbelts.
Alcohol was not a factor, deputies reported.
Dowagiac and Wayne Fire Department personnel, as well as Dowagiac ambulance personnel, assisted at the scene.
