Suspects arrested in Fulkerson car break-ins

NILES - Niles Township Police Officers arrested two subjects last night for multiple car break-ins which occurred in the Fulkerson Park area at approximately 1:30 a.m. An officer while enroute to the call observed the described suspect vehicle at 17th and Fulkerson Road in Niles Township and initiated a felony stop, subsequently arresting two persons, with a third subject fleeing on foot prior to the stop.
This third individual, David Jay Jenkins, 18, 402 E. South St., Dowagiac, was later arrested on 12th Street in the City of Niles at 7:30 a.m. this morning. One suspect was arrested and released with Jenkins and Michael Lee Carpenter, 21, 1812 Platt, Niles, being lodged at the Niles Law Enforcement Complex pending arraignment in 5th District Court today on multiple Larceny from Motor Vehicle charges.
Niles Township Police were assisted by Niles City Officers and Michigan State Police Troopers. Police Investigation is continuing with more property being recovered however no further arrests are anticipated.
