Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce and nine participating businesses are teaming up to make this a memorable summer for three people who shop southwestern Michigan's Grand Old City.
Beginning June 1, patrons can sign up to win $100 in Universal Dowagiac Gift Certificates during the 2005 Summer Shopping Spree, which is being held this June, July and August.
A new winner will be drawn each month who will receive four $25 gift cards, which can be used at any of the host locations.
According to Vickie Phillipson, program director of the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Authority, the promotion is being held in conjunction with a three-month "Destination Dowagiac" television advertising campaign, which begins airing next week on WNDU Channel 16.
Participating sites are Booth's Country Florist, Harding's Friendly Market, Imperial Furniture, Judd Lumber Building Supplies and Rental Center, The Marshall Shoppe, Suite Dreams, Vincent J. Jewelers, Wounded Minnow Saloon and Zeke's Restaurant.
Phillipson said on the first Monday of the month, each of the host sites will draw a patron's name, from which that month's winner will be selected.
The "Destination Dowagiac" television advertising campaign and the 2005 Summer Shopping Spree are joint promotions of the Chamber of Commerce and the DDA.
