Cassopolis' Jealyn Foston and Dowagiac's Kyle Bennett have been named the Leader Publications Athletes of the Week for May 23-28.
Foston had three doubles and a triple as Cassopolis swept Eau Claire in a doubleheader.
Bennett finished second in the pole vault in the Big 16 Conference Track &Field Championships.
Each week, athletes from Dowagiac, Cassopolis and Edwardsburg will be nominated for the Athlete of the Week.
One boy and one girl are then selected from those nominations.
In April 2006, each senior Athlete of the Week winner from all three sports seasons will submit an application for the 2006 Athlete of the Year Scholarship.
Leader Publications will then select a boys' and girls' Athlete of the Year from the six schools in its coverage area.
The two athletes will receive a scholarship for an as yet to be determined amount.
The winners will be named in May 2006.
