Cass Equestrian Team a winner

Cassopolis won the inaugural Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association's District 3 Junior Division Meet on Saturday at the Cass County Fairgrounds.
Cassopolis won the Class B Division with 97 points.
The Cassopolis team consisted of Kimmy Bratton, Sara Brenneman, Agust Olafsson and Ashley Teter. Cassopolis is coached by Michelle and Danielle Sindell.
South Haven finished second with 89 points, while Berrien Springs was third with 65 points and Lakeshore fourth with 48 points. Dowagiac was fifth with 35 points.
Coloma won the Class C Division with 58 points.
The Coloma team was made up of Sarah Kettlehut, Mikayla Romeo and Jessica Sharpe. The team was coached by Lisa Norden.
Lawrence finished second with 43 points while Bridgman took third with 41 points.
St. Basil's Catholic School finished with 29 points, along with River Valley. Gobles finished with 26 points, while Michigan Lutheran and Buchanan finished with 23 and 22 points respectively.
Watervliet (12), St. Joe Upton (12), Decatur (9) and Hartford (3) rounded out the order of finish.
Paw Paw and Allegan also competed in Class C.
Bratton was the overall leading scorer with 61 points for Cassopolis. Bratton finished first in Hunt Seat Fitting and Showing, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Equitation and Cloverleaf race, among her placings.
On Wednesday, June 15 the district will hold a Senior Division kickoff meeting and Junior Division awards banquet at the Hartford Federated Church. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. with the banquet scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
