Dowagiac Superintendent Larry Crandall announced on Wednesday that Chuck Rubino will continue to coach the girls' tennis team this coming fall.
Following the May 16 Board of Education meeting, board members agreed to allow Crandall the opportunity to review his recommendation that Rubino not be reappointed for the 2005 season.
At Crandall's initiation, a meeting was held Monday afternoon involving individuals, including Rubino, who were directly involved in this matter.
The ensuing discussion led to an agreement supported by all parties present and the Board of Education. The agreement will allow Rubino to coach girls tennis next fall while addressing concerns that resulted in the original recommendation of the superintendent.
