NILES - Not only did Cassopolis get crushed defensively by Brandywine's power hitting Tuesday night, but the Rangers also had trouble offensively against Bobcat pitcher Kory Bridges and his defense.
Brandywine collected two Lakeland Conference wins against Cass winning the first game 14-0 and getting the 6-1 win in the second game.
Bridges was the winning pitcher in both games for the Bobcats with a combined 19 strike outs and broke the season record he established last year, which was 149 strike outs.
Top hitters for Brandywine in the first game were Josh Atwood with two hits and four RBIs, Noah Udell with five RBIs and Zach Bennett with two hits and four runs scored.
Jake Harris added three hits and three RBIs. The Bobcats benefited from 12 walks.
Atwood did what he does best in the second game and nailed a home run for the Bobcats marking his 11th of the season. Atwood also added three additional hits for Brandywine and five RBIs, which gives him 45 on the season so far.
Alex Newman, Justin Ely, Alan Schoff and AJ Hawkins all added two hits each for the Bobcats.
The Rangers will hosted Berrien Springs on Wednesday in a make up Lakeland Conference doubleheader.
