Drug bust in Buchanan

ST. JOSEPH - Lt Keith Hafer from the Berrien County Sheriff's Department reports on Wednesday, May 11, at 10:30 p.m., the Berrien County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Berrien County Sheriff's Road Patrol and the Buchanan Police Dept, served a search warrant for narcotics at 704 1/2 Main, Buchanan.
The warrant was the result of a week-long investigation into narcotics trafficking from that address.
Arrested was Brandine Lee Brown, 26, of the same address.
Brown, who was currently on probation, was arrested inside the residence and later booked in the Berrien County Jail pending arraignment on the charges listed.
Charges include: possession of crack with intent to deliver, 2nd offense; maintaining a drug house, 2nd offense; and on warrants for two non support arrearages of $10,000 and $3,200.
Officers seized a baggie from Brown's pocket which contained 27 packages of crack cocaine ($810 street value). Officers seized additional drug evidence from the residence. Officers also seized $338 cash and two cell phones under civil forfieture.
A warrant is being requested for a second resident of 704 1/2 Main for a charge of Maintaining a Drug House.
