The Edwardsburg varsity softball team split a Lakeland Conference doubleheader with visiting River Valley on Tuesday.
The Lady Eddies 9-9, 3-5 LAC) took the opening game 5-1, but dropped the nightcap, 7-3.
Jenna Bowman (5-4) picked up the victory as she tossed a three-hitter with four strike outs and just one walk.
Kelli Kretchman had three hits, including a double. Sam Fritsche also had three hits for the Lady Eddies.
In the nightcap, Kretchman took the loss despite allowing just four hits. Kretchman (3-4) struck out three.
Sheila Stoops and Fritsche each had two hits for Edwardsburg, which outhit River Valley, 6-4.

The Edwardsburg varsity softball team dropped a 9-2 decision to visiting Jimtown (Ind.) on Friday.
The Lady Eddies (8-8) got a double from Sheila Stoops.
