CASSOPOLIS - Are you looking for a job or know someone who needs one?
Cass County residents will be able to get a handle on the area's job market at the Cass County Job Fair Wednesday, May 18, from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Ross Beatty High School gymnasium.
Representatives from local businesses will be there to talk about current job openings, training opportunities, interviewing and resume tips, apprenticeship programs, job shadowing and summer employment options for high school students.
Some of the companies and organizations that will be at the job fair are: U.S. Business Systems, Cass County Council on Aging, Michigan Works, K&M Machine-Fabricating, Hess Engineering, Subway, Woodlands, Southwestern Michigan College and Lake Michigan College.
Wagner added her hope is to give students knowledge of how to properly apply for jobs and gain interview experience.
If they can help the community in any way, that is a bonus.
The job fair is being made possible by a grant Wagner received from the career technical department at Lewis Cass Intermediate School District.
Also helping with this event is the Cassopolis/Vandalia Area Chamber of Commerce. They asked local businesses to participate in the event.
Kanczuzewski added that he is glad to see the school holding this event and to see the cooperation between the school and the community.
