Tough loss for Bobcats baseball

NILES - Brandywine's varsity baseball team suffered two tough loses to Berrien Springs Tuesday afternoon.
The Shamrocks are ranked seventh in division three baseball and the Bobcats were able to stay with them throughout both games.
It took 11 innings in the first game before Berrien Springs was able to claimed the 1-0 victory.
The run was scored on a wild pitch from Brandywine's Jake Harris. Harris was the losing pitcher with Colby Wood taking the win. Kory Bridges and Shelby Wood both pitched the first 10 innings of the first game. Bridges had 10 strike outs for the Bobcats.
The second game went the normal seven innings, with the Shamrocks coming out on top of Brandywine 5-3.
Shelby Wood was the winning pitcher for Berrien Springs against Harris. Wieger took over in the fourth inning for Harris.
Bridges and Josh Atwood each had an RBI for the Bobcats and Wieger had three hits, scored two runs and stole two bases for Brandywine.
The Bobcats, now 8-13 overall, 3-5 in the LAC, will host River Valley tonight for another Lakeland Conference doubleheader set to begin at 4 p.m.
