Dowagiac swept

The Dowagiac varsity baseball team was swept by visiting Berrien Springs on Thursday.
The Shamrocks, ranked No. 7 in the latest Division III poll, won the first game 5-1 and the nightcap, 6-3.
Jordan Huey took the loss in the first game in relief of starter Jake Cox.
Dowagiac had just three hits, including a double from Brandon Simmons and two singles from David Stuppy.
In the second game, Jamie Simpson took the loss.
Dowagiac finished with six hits led by Jesse Cox who had a pair of hits. Mike Laylin added two hits and two RBIs.
