Buchanan track team struggles

NILES - Buchanan's boys and girls track teams didn't do too well against River Valley and Bridgman Monday afternoon.
Though the boys picked up an 81-33 win over River Valley, they fell to Bridgman 84-42.
The girls team fell to the Mustangs 74-38 and fell to the Bees 94-28.
Placing first for the boys were Dan Toth in the long jump (15-9), 100 meter hurdles (18.1) and the 300 meter hurdles (48.1), Jared Rusher in the high jump (5-3), 100 meter dash (12.8), 400 meter dash (59.2) and the 200 meter dash (25.4), Sean Reams in the 1,600 meter run (5:29.4), 800 meter run (2:22.7) and the 3,200 meter run (12:23.2).
Taking first in relays were Adam Houin, Bobby Cauffman, Jon Young and Reams in the 3,200 meter relay, Young, Jon Beechler, Auston Ferris and Aaron Sater in the 800 meter relay and Sater, Houin, David Knisely and Ferris in the 400 meter relay.
Placing second for Buchanan was Sater (100 meter hurdles), Josh Tinker (300 meter hurdles), Jeff Kruchkow (200 meter dash), Phil Metz (discus), Rusher (400 meter dash, Toth (300 meter hurdles) and Reams (800 meter run).
Third place finishers were Knisley (long jump, 100 meter dash), Kruchkow (100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles), Beechler (400 meter dash), Houin (1,600 meter run) and Cauffman (200 meter dash, 3,200 meter run), Ferris (shot put) and Rusher (200 meter dash).
Placing first for the girls were Lindsey Borr in the long jump (12-11), 400 meter dash (66.1), 200 meter dash (31.4) and 800 meter run (2:54.9), Kristel Briney in the 100 meter hurdles (19.1) and Ellen Siemon in the 3,200 meter run (6:14.7).
Second place finishers for the Bucks were Borr (long jump, 200 meter dash), Briney (long jump, 100 meter hurdles, 100 meter dash) and Siemon (3,200 meter run.
Placing third were Katie Dreitzler (discus, shot put), Briney (long jump), Siemon (1,600 meter run), Caroline Tembo (200 meter dash).
The Bucks will travel to Kalamazoo Hackett on Wednesday. Meet time is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
