DUHS junior varsity baseball team sweeps visiting Tigers

The Dowagiac junior varsity baseball team swept a doubleheader from visiting Benton Harbor Tuesday afternoon at Russom Field.
The Chieftains (10-2) won the opening game 10-3 and then took the nightcap, 12-5.
Tyler First (2-1) worked four innings to pick up the victory. First allowed three runs on three hits with 11 strike outs and three walks. Reggie Fritz worked the final inning, allowing one hit.
Kyle Prak went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Matt Dodson had a single and two RBIs, while Chris Primley was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Jason Fryman homered for the Chieftains, who also got an RBI sacrifice fly from Reggie Fritz.
Dodson (1-0) did not give up a run in three innings of work. Dodson struck out six. Alex Withorn worked an inning and two-thirds, allowing five runs, two of which were earned. Tony Saviano came in and recorded the save.
