Buchanan track teams fall at Edwardsburg

EDWARDSBURG - The host Edwardsburg girls' track team posted a pair of Lakeland Conference victories Monday afternooon.
The Lady Eddies romped past Buchanan, 122-9, while they also defeated Berrien Springs, 75-59.
The Edwardsburg boys' track team split with the visiting Bucks and Shamrocks.
Edwardsburg rolled to a 105-13 win over Buchanan, but was defeated by Berrien Springs, 74-59.
Winning events for the Lady Eddies against Buchanan were Kailee Checkley in the shot put (30-4), Stacey Miller in the discus (86-9), Stephanie Koontz in the high jump and pole vault (4-4, 6-0), Ricquelle Allemon in the long jump (16-2), Erin Eggleston in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles (16.69, 50.59), Evie Tafunai in the 100- and 200-meters (13.31, 28.28), Angie Bronicki in the 1,600- and 3,200-meters (6:29, 14:19) and Julie Harness in the 800-meters (2:58).
Edwardsburg also won the 3,200-, 800-, 400- and 1,600-meter relays.
Bronicki, Harness, Jackie O'Connor and Kathy Stewart were clocked at 11:93 in the 3,200-meters, while Harness, Tafunai, Bailey and Eggleston ran a 4:42 in the 1,600-meters.
Emily Kendall, Randi Bailey, Jami Pickrell and Jenny Sutherland won the 800-meters with a time of 2:08. Tafunai, Kendall, Allemon and Eggleston won the 400-metes with a time of 55.46.
Buchanan's lone victory came in the 400-meters where Lindsey Borr won with a time of 1:07.
Finishing second for the Lady Eddies were Dani Giles (shot put), Linda Phillipson (discus, long jump), Koontz (long jump), Bailey (100, 300 hurdles), Sutherland (100-meters), Stewart (1,600-meters), Ricquelle Allemon (400-, 200-meters), O'Connor (800-meters) and Sara Platz (3,200-meters).
Finishing third were Miller, Koontz, Pickrell, Kendall, Platz, Katie Kunst and Bronicki.
Finishing second for Buchanan was Borr in the high jump. She also took third in the long jump and 200-meters.
Winning events for the Eddies were Craig Blume in the shot put (38-9.5), Alex Antoniu in the discus (98-9), Doug Shuttleworth in the high jump and long jump (6-3, 19-10), Anthony Hayes in the pole vault (11-0), David Daniels in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles (15.73, 42.05), Derek Eden in the 100-meters (11.59), James Greenfield in the 1,600- and 3,200-meters (5:05.54, 11:07.56) and Jake Roberts in the 800-meters (2:12.08).
Edwardsburg also won the 3,200, 800-, 400- and 1,600-meter relays.
The 3,200-meter team of Shuttleworth, Pat Huggett, Roberts and Greenfield ran 9:22.14.
Daniels, Kyle Poe, Eden and Randy York ran 1:42.82 in the 800-meters, while York, Poe, Hayes and Jared Price ran 48.83 in the 400-meters.
Price, Hall, Poe and Roberts ran 3:58.25 in the 1,600-meters.
Jared Rusher had the lone first place efforts for the Bucks as he won the 400- and 200-meters with times of 57.54 and 24.7 respectively.
Finishing second for the Eddies were Joe White (discus), Daniels (long jump), Hayes (110, 300 hurdles), York (100-, 200-meters), Ryan Bringedahl (1,600-meters), Poe (400-meters), Hayes (300 hurdles) and Greenfield (800-meters).
Finishing second for the Bucks were Jim Connors (shot put), Rusher (high jump) and Jeff Kruchkow (pole vault).
Finishing third for the Bucks were Dan Toth, Aaron Sater and Jon Young.
Buchanan will travel to the Rotary Track Meet on Friday at St. Joseph. Meet time is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
