The Dowagiac junior varsity tennis team was defeated by visiting Buchanan Thursday afternoon, 7-1.
Dowagiac picked up its lone victory at No. 2 doubles where Brandon Knapp and Jeff Brosnan defeated Dan Simpson and Justin Brown, 8-6 in a pro set.
In singles action, Kevin Simpson lost 3-8, Josh Rodgers lost 4-8, Jon Mitchell lost 0-8 and Kevin Billingham lost 2-8.
In doubles play, Kevin Proshwitz and Kyle Robbins lost 2-8, Chris Bogen and Eric Hsu lost 2-8 and Josh Swingler and Matt Swingler lost 0-8.
Dowagiac's varsity squad travels to Edwardsburg today for a non-league match.
