Short-handed Chieftains lose to St. Joseph, 10-0

ST. JOSEPH - With several players sitting on the sidelines with injuries and a banged up goalkeeper, the Dowagiac varsity soccer team was not match for host St. Joseph Wednesday night.
The Chieftains gave up six first half goals and were defeated by the Lady Bears, 10-0.
Scoring first half goals for St. Joseph were Lindsey Williamson (13th minute), Mallory Smith (19th minute), Mary Schueneman (32nd minute), Kelli Celmer (35th minute), Schueneman (39th minute) and Williamson (39th minute).
Dowagiac gave up four more goals in the second half.
Scoring for St. Joseph were Kaitlyn Becker (47th minute), Schueneman (50th minute), Williamson (52nd) and Becker (54th minute).
JV soccer
The Dowagiac junior varsity soccer team was also shut out by the Lady Bears Wednesday night.
St. Joseph won 9-0 after leading 6-0 at halftime.
