NILES - Troopers from the Michigan State Police Niles Post 53 spotted a vehicle that had earlier eluded Buchanan Police officers at a high rate of speed on Tuesday, April 19, at 1:10 p.m.
The suspect William Robert Barker, 31, of Buchanan, was wanted on felony probation violations and breaking and entering charges.
Barker, driving a blue 1985 Chevrolet pickup, led troopers, as well as police from the Niles Township, Niles City, Cass County Sheriff's Department, and Edwardsburg/Ontwa Township Police, throughout Howard and Milton Townships in Cass County.
The incident ended without injury after Barker lost control of his vehicle on Leet Road and crashed.
He continued to flee from the wreckage, but was apprehended after a short foot chase. Barker was lodged at the Cass County Jail.
