Brandywine’s boys track team picks up win

NILES - The Brandywine girls track team was swept by Lawerence and Decatur Wednesday afternoon while the boys team picked up two wins over both teams.
The girls fell to Lawerence 115-20 and fell to Decatur 90-28. The boys team defeated Lawerence by only two points, 73-71 and defeated Decatur with a more comfortable 97-44 win.
First place finishers for the girls team were Michelle Smith on the pole vault, (7-6) and the 1,600-meters relay team (4:43.63).
Placing second was Amy Konopinski (800 run, discus).
First place winners for the boys were Brian Weiger in the 1,600 run (4:59.91) and the 3,200 run (11:27.02), Caleb Frazier in the 400 dash (55.52), Matt Duckett in the 300 hurdles (47.33).
Ricky Wood in the 800 run (2:11.71), Ryan Hartman in the shot put (39-5.5) and Kyle Perry on the pole vault (11').
The Bobcats also took first in the 1,600-meters relay and the 3,200-meters relay.
Placing second were Duckett (110 hurdles), Adam Prescott (100 meter dash), Eugene Miller (800 run).
Kyle Low (high jump) and Ryan Hartman (discus).
Brandywine also finished second in the 800 relay and 400 relay.
The track teams will travel to Hartford on Saturday. Meet time is set for 10 a.m.
