STEVENSVILLE - The Niles varsity soccer team was defeated by Lakeshore Wednesday night 5-0.
Both teams remained scoreless after the first half, but a sun disadvantage early in the second gave the Vikings some trouble and caused the Lancers to score two quick goals putting them up 2-0.
The JV soccer team also suffered a 4-3 loss to Lakeshore Wednesday.
The varsity team will host Benton Harbor on Monday at 5 p.m.
Lakeshore jumped out to a quick three point goal before extending it to four before the Vikings started answering back.
Niles' first goal came from a corner kick by Heather Casey and was finished by Dakota Price.
Anna Smith scored the second goal for the Vikes with an assist from Britney Molnar.
Price finished the Niles scoring with her second goal from a penalty kick.
The JV team will play a scrimmage game Friday against River Valley at home at 5 p.m.
