Dowagiac athletes preparing for busy week ahead

Spring break is rapidly coming to a close which means high school sports will kick into high gear beginning on Monday.
The Dowagiac girls' varsity soccer team will finally get its season under way on Monday when it travels to Allegan for a non-conference match.
The Chieftains had their invitational on March 26 canceled due to weather.
On Monday Dowagiac and Allegan will play at 6:45 p.m.
Also on Monday, the Chieftain baseball team will continue its season by hosting Coloma at 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, the tennis and softball teams open their seasons.
The tennis team will travel to Paw Paw for a 4 p.m. non-conference match, while the softball team will host Portage Central at 4:30 in a Big 16 Conference non-divisional doubleheader.
The DUHS golf team will be at South Haven at 3:30 p.m.
The Chieftain soccer team will be at Benton Harbor on Wednesday in a match scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
Thursday the baseball and softball teams travel to Battle Creek to face Harper Creek, while the tennis team hosts Harper Creek.
The soccer team will be at Brandywine, while the track team opens up its season at Benton Harbor in a Big 16 West Division meet at 4:30 p.m.
On Saturday the softball team hosts its own invitational.
