West rally falls short in boy’s game

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Despite letting a 26-point lead nearly slip away, it was nothing but smiles for the East All-Stars following their 115-110 victory over the East in the McDonald's All-American boys' game Wednesday night.
The East's Josh McRoberts, who was named Morgan Wootten Player of the Year, scored 17 points and was named the Most Valuable Player.
The East also got a game-high 24 points from Gerald Green and 14 points from Louis Williams. Greg Paulus and Eric Devendorf each tallied 13 points for the East.
The West was led by Mario Chalmers' 20 points, while Martell Webster added 16 points and Tyler Hansbrough 15 points.
The West also got 14 points from Julian Wright and 13 points from Calvin Miller.
The East built up a huge 65-43 halftime lead after leading by as many as 26.
The West pulled together in the second half and whittled down the East's advantage, finally knotting the game up at 106 with 1:25 remaining.
Paulus then sealed the victory by hitting his free throws down the stretch.
