NILES - Chances are good that area residents answering their phones next Tuesday or Wednesday, may find a Niles Main Street survey volunteer on the other end of the line. Volunteers will be conducting the telephone consumer surveys, which start next week.
People responding to surveys will be helping to set the course for downtown Niles' future. The survey is estimated to take most respondents only about 5 to 8 minutes to complete.
Fact is, millions upon millions of dollars are up for grabs in the Niles trade area and where those dollars are spent, and how Niles go about doing business to best ensure that it captures and keeps it's fair share of those dollars at home here in Niles, will have significant influence on how the downtown defines itself in the future, including how it develops, how it looks and how it is marketed - both to consumers and investors.
The survey results will help identify emerging opportunities and allow the opportunity to better plan for downtown Niles' future, to capitalize on opportunities that the community has identified for the downtown, including local market opportunities that could lead to new businesses and the expansion of existing businesses.
A summary of the survey results and findings will be included in the Downtown Niles Market Study Report scheduled for completion in June. The report will outline specific business development and marketing strategies for downtown Niles, along with recommendations for projects and implementation strategies.
