Tip leads to arrests of three for marijuana

A tip from a citizen led to the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team (CCDET) arresting three individuals Tuesday afternoon, March 22, for possession with intent to deliver marijuana in Dowagiac.
CCDET investigators and Dowagiac Police Department were contacted by Cass County Central Dispatch at approximately 3:30 p.m. and advised that they received an anonymous tip of narcotics dealing on Maple Street in the city.
An investigation into the tip led to a search of a vehicle in the 400 block of Maple and a residence in the 300 block of E. Division Street.
Investigators seized approximately $200 worth of marijuana and $250 in cash in conjunction with the arrests.
All three suspects were lodged in the Cass County Jail to await arraignment.
Ecstasy seized in traffic stop
CASSOPOLIS - Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood reports that deputies from his office arrested two individuals early this morning, March 23.
During an investigation at a traffic stop on Hoffman Street, near Sodaman Road, deputies discovered approximately $750.00 of ecstasy, packaging material, and scales. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving with a suspended license along with a warrant from Kalamazoo. The passenger was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver. Both subjects were lodged at the Cass County Correctional Facility. The subjects names are being held pending their arraignment.
