Arrest made

Chief Thomas Atkinson reports that officers of the Dowagiac Police Department arrested a male subject for allegedly stealing a car stereo from a vehicle parked at Domino's Pizza on M-51 South.
According to Chief Atkinson, the suspect initially entered the business to purchase a drink.
He then left without buying anything and was observed by store employees around another worker's vehicle.
One of he employees saw him leaving the lot and alerted the owner of the car, who went outside and found that her car stereo had been removed from the dashboard.
The vehicle owner drove after the suspect, who was walking east towards town, and made contact with Cass County Central Dispatch with her cell phone.
She directed officers to the suspect's location and he was apprehended at the corner of W. High and S. Paul streets.
The stolen property was located nearby.
The suspect was arrested and lodged at the Cass County Jail, where he was being held on a charge of larceny from a vehicle.
Police withheld the suspect's name pending arraignment.
