Howard Twp. crash injures one

Michigan State Police Niles Post is investigating a single vehicle, personal injury traffic crash that occurred this morning at 12:45 a.m.
The vehicle, driven by a 22-year-old male from Granger, Ind., was northbound on Carberry Road when he lost control of his vehicle and slid through the intersection striking a tree. The driver became entrapped and had to be extricated from his vehicle.
SMCAS Ambulance Service transported the subject to Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. for treatment. The extent of the injuries is unknown.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Howard Township Fire Department and SMCAS Ambulance Service.
